Actavis UK Ltd part of a leading Scandanavian OTC pharmaceutical and healthcare products groups assisted by Amies International has acquired the Cymex pharmaceutical brand from De Witt, followed by 10 additional brands from Thornton Ross.

Actavis UK gains OTC brands from Thornton & Ross

The Actavis OTC Business has acquired all rights to ten OTC brands from Thornton & Ross Ltd

The acquisition of these brands will be with immediate effect.  The new additions to the Actavis OTC portfolio include:

• Cymalon
• Dermidex
• Electrolade
• Ellimans Embrocation
• Gastrocote
• Goddards Embrocation
• Morhulin Ointment
• Orovite 7
• Sominex
• Yeastvite

The acquisition of these ten brands is an enormous step for Actavis OTC and in line with our intentions to grow the OTC business.  The acquired brands have fantastic pharmacy heritage and this acquisition will generate significant critical mass for Actavis in the OTC marketplace.  These brands will join the existing portfolio, which was strengthened in July with the acquisition of Cymex cold sore treatment.
